UNITES was launched by starting a massive publicity month of UNITES in Kolkata. This was successfully launched on 26th January 2010 at Maruti Building,12, Loudon Street,Kolkata-700017.

The Programme started with hoisting of National Flag in the presence of Mr.Ramen Pandey, Brother Karthik Shekhar, UNITES- General Secretary with many IT workers who were present as the founding members of the event which was followed by a Cultural Programme and Musical event.

A formal meeting was also arranged for the IT workers present at the event with Brother Karthik, who made them aware about the aims, activities and objectives of the UNITES and tea & Snacks were served.

At the end of the Programme many IT workers were enthusiastic to join the UNITES and also filled the membership form of UNITES. The IT workers also took the targets to make as many members possible to strengthen UNITES.

After the meeting the IT workers were served with lunch packets and were given with many Membership forms which they shall ask there colleagues to fill up and join UNITES.

After getting the positive feedback, we hope to organize an NgN meeting for IT workers, registration of UNITES Kolkata and membership of about 100 IT workers in the end of March
