Are employees an organization's greatest asset?

If people are an organization's greatest asset, why are they the first to go in bad times?

Performance of an organisation is almost measured in financial terms. Investments are normally made in business drivers.

When there is slow down or crisis, almost all organisations seem to focus on reducing staff as a first measure to reduce costs, which may seem logical as the staff cost is the single-highest cost item in most organisations.

But do they consider the organisations were built on & by these knowledge workers by sacrificing their weekends, family time. So is this the price of honesty & loyalty.

We at UNITES want employers to treat the employees more humanly and we understand the economic slowdown and inevitability of this on the company. Our request is instead of Pink slips can the employers look at other options like
talking with the employees in a transparent manner and tell them were and how is the impact and how the employees and employers could collectively tide over the problem.

From UNITES we are there to support any dialogue in this manner and will lobby with the Government both at State & Central level to ensure the companies stay afloat with all their employees.

We welcome your ideas suggestions on contact@unitespro.org
